What Can You Include In Your Membership Programme?

There are lots of things you could include in your membership programme, but as a starting point, think about the following:

Forum – a place to network and share ideas with other members

Monthly training call – exclusive to members, on variety of topics

Transcripts and recordings of calls – pretty much a ‘must-have’ item in your programme

Group laser coaching sessions – access to short group laser coaching sessions on monthly or bi-monthly basis

Discounts on products – discounts for any additional products your members go on to purchase

Exclusive members-only events – events for members, which would be of benefit to them

Articles, special reports and e-books – access to a range of material relevant for your members

Discounts with preferred partners – deals negotiated with suppliers that offer discounts on their products to your members

You might be looking at this list thinking there is a lot of work that you need to do to create for your programme but it is not as bad you might think. A lot of the content can be created and scheduled in advance and you do not necessarily have to come up with all the content – bring on board partners and other contributors.

The other thing to remember is to start small. Start out with just a training call, transcript and recording, until you get comfortable, and then introduce other things later.

Tips For Setting Up Your Home Based Office

2. Create a permanent, comfortable and healthy desk space.

When choosing a desk, make sure it has large enough area to accommodate the work you will be doing. It is tempting, particularly when using a small space, to choose a small desk or a cupboard workstation. Just make sure you have enough room to spread out.

Make sure the chair you choose is fully adjustable and comfortable. You will be spending a lot of time at your desk, so a healthy posture is essential.

Selling Information Products In Your Online Business Products Part 2

For part one of this article see 2nd May

For example, if you are delivering information products in a written format, such as a Word document, you might turn that into a pdf file and call it an ebook. Of you might decide to deliver that written information over a series of emails, delivered over a period, and call it an ecourse.

If you prefer the spoken word, you might record an interview or telephone conversation, turn that into an mp3 and call it an audio programme. You could also have that information transcribed and turn it into another written information product, an ebook or ecourse.

Don’t be put off by thinking you have to write a book on a subject either, most information products are relatively short in length, so rather than books, think guides or tip sheets. Internet users want concise, easy to consume products that answer their questions or solve a particular problem and you shouldn’t need to write reams in order to do that. If you do, serialise the information and turn it into an ecourse.

What exactly is a Membership Programme?

Members pay an annual or monthly fee to belong to your club. The members continue to pay a regular subscription (usually monthly or yearly) for access to the content and resources that you provide as part of the programme.

A membership programme, or continuity programme as some people call it, is where you are building a community of members and offering them valuable information in exchange for their membership fee.

Tips For Setting Up Your Home Based Office

One of the fun parts of setting up your home business is setting up your home office. Here are some hot tips to make sure you invest wisely in everything you will need.

1. Create a dedicated space that is your ‘office’.

Ideally, your office should be a dedicated space – an entire room if possible, or, at least, a sizeable part of one. You will need a clear space to work, which has enough power sockets and a phone-line connection nearby. Make sure your workspace is free from noise and distractions, such as a TV or washing machine.

Also, think about the additional room you will need for other necessary furniture (filing cabinet, stationery storage, etc).

Get Organised: Have a Budget

All projects need to have a budget in order to effectively monitor the expenses. Use something simple like Excel to record all income and expenses.

Add Communities into Your Online Business

When you start your online business, you will have identified your target market and know how you are going to help them. You will then build your contact list from within your target market and start to attract people – building your own community in the process.

Once you have built up a community of like-minded people, who love what you have to offer, it could be time to introduce a membership site or a continuity programme.

Selling Information Products In Your Online Business Part 1

Building a business around information products has become a bit of a hot topic in recent years. Many online businesses were developed selling other peoples digital downloads of information, but what information products could you develop with your own knowledge, and how can you sell them?

Information products are things like ebooks, ecourses, teleseminars, audio programmes, online training programmes. An information product is simply a product whereby you deliver information to your customer in an electronic format, so a downloadable file. You can of course package your information product as a hard copy and send out things like a folder containing printer material, cds, dvds, etc but most people deliver information products online, to keep production costs to a minimum and the efficiency of the business high.

Make Unsubscribing Easy
If someone wants to leave your mailing list, there is no point trying to hold on to them; they have already made the decision not to buy from you. To give one last professional impression of your business, you can at least make unsubscribing from your list easy and straightforward. It is ethical to include an unsubscribe link in all your ezines, and this should link to an automated system that will remove them quickly and painlessly. Benefits of Working with A Virtual Assistant

Focus can be switched to moneymaking activities – by outsourcing their administrative tasks, clients can focus their time on making moneymaking activities.

A cost-effective solution – clients only pay for the time you are working on their tasks, not lunch breaks, networking events, holidays, etc.

No office space or equipment requirements – as VAs work from their own premises, clients do not need to provide the office space or equipment they would if they employed their own support staff.

No employee-related issues – as a VA is a self-employed business owner, clients do not need to worry about employment law, national insurance contributions, PAYE, pension contributions, etc.

Flexible support available – most VAs work on a regular retainer, ad hoc and project specific basis, alleviating clients’ requirements for employed support staff.

Experienced professional to support their business – if utilised correctly, a VA with professional expertise can help a business grow.

Can complement existing support staff – a VA is a perfect resource to complement existing office staff with tasks that often get overlooked in the day-to-day running of a business.

Allow more time for leisure activities – by outsourcing tasks to a VA, clients can increase the amount of time they can spend with their family and friends.
